Vacation - Day1

I am in Germany for three weeks with my daughters! Granted, not the first country one thinks of when someone mentions culinary arts - but know this: The myth of a Nation built on Sauerkraut and Bratwurst is just that - a myth.

Germany has an amazing variety of foods that differs greatly from region to region.
I will sample some of that variety in restaurants all over the country, but I will mostly rely on my parents to create those delicacies.

My parents are both excellent cooks which of course they would never admit, they have all these little culinary secrets that I am hoping to uncover and learn from...
