Partner Roulette
Chef announced today that come Saturday she will mix up the teams and everybody will get a new partner.
That kinda bites because me and my partner are just now starting to work as a team.
But I guess the idea here is to keep us on out toes, train us to adapt to new partners and bring some confusion, hysteria and panic into the mix.
Well - It's not that serious. But I will miss my partner. Screw ups, scorching hot milk on my hands and other mishaps aside, we have become a team, went through thick and thin if you will.
So tonight our last performance as a team was all about doughs and the wonderful things they let you create.
Apple tart... Wow. Finished off with a nice apricot glaze, it was by far the best use of an apple - or seven apples - I have ever witnessed.
On the savory end of the spectrum was a quiche that blew everybody's mind. Including my doorman's (he is my trusted guinea pig).
He was so impressed that he vowed to introduce me to the executive chef of a wonderful restaurant here in the city that happens to be living in our building. Don't wanna give out names here but I will hint that the restaurant is as close to the 59th street bridge as technically possible.
This could be the internship of internships. My fingers are crossed!
Damn, I had too much apple tart, getting sleepy...maybe a little sip of Kirsch will help things... hold on...no. Didn't do it. I have to go to bed.
