Alain Ducasse was my partner tonight...

...at least that's what it felt like.

Whenever a student misses a class, they can make that class up at a later time. This is what Benjamin of level 3 did today. As my regular partner was out sick today, I was teamed up with him.

Wow! Did I enjoy playing second fiddle to that guy! It was like having a tutor. Besides the technical skills (the guy chops like a machine), he was just a walkiing encyclopedia on anything food related.
Tonight's class was on seafood. Crustaceans and Mollusks to be exact - not exactly my forte.
But the dishes we presented pleased chef completely. None of the usual "little more salt next time" or "sauce is not nappant enough".

The experience today was great because it gave me a glimpse of what my skills will be like.

After class a bunch of us went for drinks, which was fun. It felt really weird saying good bye for the holidays though. Can't believe I won't see them for a week. I'm gonna miss class.

I think I will write some Blog entries over the Holidays though so keep checking in.
