OUCH ! MOTHERTRUCKER !

Vita Prep is a blender on steroids. I used one today to puree soup. On the front of the blender there is a dial that lets you select the speed - from 1 to 10.
Unfortunately I was completely unaware of the switch that overrides this dial and just let's the thing rip at a Spinal Tap-esque 11...

I had hot steaming soup in my face, on my upper body, in my hair and on my hands and forearms. To visualize how much that hurt, please refer to the title of this post.
What little amount of soup I didn't manage to catch with my body, landed on the floor.
Chef was kind enough to comment on the nice, rich color of the soup which believe it or not made me feel better than the ice wraps on my burns.

Now don't be too alarmed, these injuries will in now way jeopardize my modeling career. They did make me feel like an idiot though.
Thank God the second dish we made came out alright.

It was a tough initiation to garde manger. More than once I looked over to the family meal station that I liked so much.
I gotta say that the new family group did an amazing job though. Can't wait to see what they whip up on Saturday.
