Plating...Cafeteria Style

My plates looked mighty crappy tonight. We plated a Salade Nicoise that looked worse than anything they would feed you in jail.
Now I'm a bit of a stickler for the layout of my plates. I like it simple, neat and appetizing - tonight's effort was complete failure on all of the above.
The reason was poor team work.
Within our group of five, we rotate partners and tonight's match-up just did not work out.
Kind of a "too many cooks in the kitchen" situation - although there was just the two of us.

All this left me pretty frustrated and downright angry. I tried to control all my emotions but it did get tense between us anyway.
Thank god for the geniuses that are doing family this week. They singlehandedly elevated my crappy mood by means of good food.

After class some of us had a couple of drinks at Toad Hall which was fun. I'm glad I went - it was good to be in the company of friends.
