Size Matters

I was off by a fraction on the size of my tournage in today's knife skills test. I'm still skilled I guess - just not 100%.
The test was a bit of a joke, we each got a carrot and a potato. The objective was to turn the potatoes into cocotte (little footballs) and julienne the carrots, we were the judged on shape, yield and speed.
As a German I now nothing about football and hence got a deduction on shape. I do make a mean soccer ball shape though.

Anyway I did OK. Got 56 out of 60 possible points.
Rest of tonight's class was uneventful, boring actually. The only true highlight was my classmate imitating Arnold Schwarzenegger. If this cooking thing doesn't work out for him he should be a comedian. The guy is hysterical. And he's got knife skills to boot.
